Hope for Tama casino license?

The studies ordered by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission are in. They were released on Tuesday afternoon - May 12.

While both are in-depth, a quick look shows a revelation about "canibalization" of exisitng casino profits. I could, and would have told Racing and Gaming that would happen for a lot less than the studies cost.

Would anybody believe, if competition opens down the road, profits of existing stores or service buisnesses or, of all things, casinos, won't change?

Hopefully, somewhere the studies note an additional casino in an area could also bolster things for the competiton - they aren't adjacent to each other on the LV Strip because they are hurt by competition.

competition in any industry is a healthy. a key componen tin the USA's rise to promience. wal-mart/home depots in tama toledo would save countless miles of driving to m-town, cr, waterloo. same for competition for the local, non tax paying casino.

Does this mean if a Wal-Mart and a Home Depot were allowed to open in the Tama/Toledo area it would be good competition?
