Members of the Tama County Convention and Tourism Bureau held their monthly meeting and toured the restored Wieting Theatre in Toledo on Monday, Feb. 13. Jim Roan, Wieting project director, conducted the tour and made a presentation on the fundraising efforts and the restoration of the historic building.
Present were Joanne Husak, Tama County Economic Development Commission, Mary An Gregory, Dysart Blue Hat Team, Ellen young, Traer Salt & Pepper Gallery, Jamie Busch-Upah, John Ernest Vineyard & Winery, Ann Graham, Pilgrim Heights, JoAnn Ruopp, Matchstick Marvels, Jodi Hopper, Tama-Toledo CVB, and Cathy Wieck, Dysart's Blue Hat Ladies.

report the Fundraising Gala at the Dysart country Club on Jan. 21 was more profitable than year past. A big thanks to Mary Ann Gregory, president of Tama County Tourism was expressed for her superb organizational leadership of the gala.
voted to do the gala again next year with a possible change to autumn as a time for the event.
dues for membership are in the fall, when Tama Co. Tourism will reprint the guide Spring 2013. It was agreed to reprint 5,000 copies.
ideas was mentioned on how to account for advertising dollars we spend for tourism in Tama County. Do people mention the CITR magazine, the Tama County Visitor's Guide, etc? It was suggested to ask people how they hear about you and your business.
motions were made to put minutes in the newspapers and in our communities Chamber's minutes.
goal is to prepare a budget to see what's available in funds to further our reach to people about Tama County Tourism.
cinema advertising was brought up but tabled until next meeting.
Ellen Young proposed an idea for a Tama County tourism calendar with all the dates of the events in our county along with pictures taken from our tourism entities. Ellen will provide more information on pricing at next meeting.
the next meeting of the Tama County Convention and Tourism Bureau will be March 5 at the Czech Point Restaurant in Clutier at 9 a.m.
