IP & L to hold informational meeting on proposed Marshalltown Generating Station

CEDAR RAPIDS - Interstate Power and Light Co. (IPL), an Alliant Energy Company, encourages customers and other interested parties to attend an informational meeting on the proposed Marshalltown Generating Station on October 4, 2012 in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The company is proposing to construct, maintain and operate a new 650 megawatt electric generation facility in Iowa. The proposed site is adjacent to the existing IPL Sutherland Generating Station located in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.

The public information meeting has been scheduled for:

6:00 pm on October 4, 2012

Best Western Regency Inn

3303 South Center Street, Marshalltown, IA

(located north of the US Hwy 30 and Iowa Hwy 14 intersection)

Informational displays will be available at 5:00 pm for viewing prior to the meeting.

Persons with disabilities requiring assistive services or devices to observe or participate should contact the Utilities Board at 515-725-7334 in advance of the scheduled date to request that appropriate arrangements be made.

Representatives of the Iowa Utilities Board will preside at this meeting and provide an agenda. IPL representatives will be present to discuss the need for the project, timing of construction, physical appearance of the facility, regulatory permitting processes, property acquisition, resolution of potential land damages and answer questions from community members.
