Rodney Kaloupek, 57, of Fort Dodge, died Oct. 11, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 6 p.m. Sunday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Rodney Kaloupek, the son of Charles and Mary (Gulling) Kaloupek, was born Sept. 26, 1955 in Marshalltown. He graduated from South Tama County High School in 1973. On July 26, 1980, Rodney was united in marriage to Deanne Swinderman and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge.
Rodney was most recently employed at Americold. He also worked at Lakeville Motor Express as a warehouse manager and dispatcher, ABC Lawncare, Midwest ProCo, as well as working as a truck driver and dispatcher.
Family was Rod's number one priority and he cherished time spent with them. Rod's favorite hobbies included time spent with friends at the race track and in the garage, dart league, and in younger years playing slow pitch softball and Jaycee's.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 32 years Deanne, his children Amy (Ben) Pingel and David (Teisha) Kaloupek, all of Fort Dodge; six grandchildren Brek and Jake Pingel and Mackenzie, Lexi, Lynzie and Brooklyn Kaloupek. He is also survived by his parents Charles and Mary Kaloupek, his sisters Barb (Ronnie) Brown and Linda Watson (Jim Bailey) all of Marshalltown, and his brother Mike Smith of Oklahoma.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
