Letter to the Editor:
We've known Dennis Kucera for many years. Our opinion is he is an excellent Sheriff and has handled numerous problems of every kind in an efficient and professional method.
We appreciate Deputy Ellenbecker's concern for 24-7 deputy being on duty at all times. However, we don't see this solving any problems. Sheriff Kucera has deputies living in all parts of the county. We believe in case of emergencies, all would be on call. Our concern with the 24-7 deputy is if an emergency should happen in the north end of the county, and the deputy is patrolling the south part of the county, who would reach the emergency situation first, the deputy on patrol driving from the south half or the deputy who lives in the north half of the county?
One of the biggest problems all sheriff's departments are having is the best service possible but managing within their budget. Dennis Kucera has handled the sheriff's department, stayed within his budget, and is highly respected by the county. Dennis Kucera has our vote, as he is an experienced law officer and an experienced manager.
