The 13th annual Excellence in Education Award ceremony was held Monday evening, Nov. 12, at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. Deloris Ryan, 4th grade teacher at the South Tama Elementary School in Tama was among the 80 educators honored as a nominee She was accompanied by the Elementary Associate Principal Mary Sherwood. The award program is sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau, WHO Radio, Fox17 and the Iowa State Education Association. Ryan was nominated by a parent.
