Robert Valenta

Robert Valenta, 83, Clutier, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Robert is survived by his wife Doris Valenta (Suchanek) of 58 years, a daughter Nancy Hanken (Matt Hanken), a grandson Josh and a granddaughter Mackenzie, all of Plymouth, Minn.

Bob is also survived by his brother Donald, Traer, and his sister Carolyn, Tucson, Az.

Bob was born April 23, 192,9 to Fred and Stella (Podhaisky) Valenta in Carroll Township, Tama County.

Bob was a Korean War Veteran and served in Korea from 1950 - 1952. When Bob returned from the service he married Doris in 1954 and soon after opened Bob's Tavern, a popular establishment in Clutier, where they both retired from the business after 36 years. Bob loved tinkering in his shop and doing various woodworking projects, helping people and mowing lawns.

Bob will be missed but never forgotten. A small private service was held with the immediate family.
