Library News-December 2012
Greetings from the Toledo Library! I am not going to say anything about the weather; each time I do that, it changes. So I will just let you know what is going on in your community library. The library has extended the annual book sale through December. Stop in to fill a bag or take a few to someone in need this holiday. What do you do with your gently used magazines? Throw them (hopefully not) recycle them? Here is another option. The library will accept gently used magazines that are in great condition and within two years. If you think someone else would enjoy your older issues, just bring them in, put them on the FREE shelf in the entryway and others will pick them up to enjoy.
The library collected Food 4 Fines all of October and November to help relieve patrons of the financial burden and to help the local Food Pantry. Many, many items were collected and sent to the pantry (approximately six boxes and 12 bags) to help fill their shelves this holiday season. Thank you to everyone who donated and to those who donated and did not even have fines! All was generous and supportive.

The library has eight public access computers for use. Public computers are a valuable asset to any public library. They can be used for business; social networking, banking, taxes, on-line classes, interviews and job seeking. The computer can also be used for educational purposes to search and apply for work, take pretests and tests, take classes and web-based classes, do research, and make a resume The uses are limitless. So, if you need computer, Internet or Wi-fi access, remember your public library. We are here for you.
The library accepts used ink cartridges, Box Tops for Education and empty Capri Sun packets. You can drop these items off anytime at the library. The library also accepts juice boxes, pretzels (for our movie day) and snacks for our library programs.
The library holds two programs each week serving approximately 20-25 kids. Any donations are greatly appreciated by everyone! Upcoming holiday programs are: Holiday Movie on Wednesday, 12th @ 3:00 and Holiday Treats on Wednesday, 19th at 3:00.
