How to take better digital photos

GRINNELL Do you want to learn how to make yourdigital photos come to life? This 3-week class will give you tips on how totake command of your camera, learn to see photos from different angles and evaluate and see your work in a different light.

Explore different types of SLR cameras and interchangeable lens.Through weekly in-class demonstrations, assignments and critiques, you willleave this class having gained confidence in your ability as a photographer. A digital SLR camera with interchangeable lens is recommended, but not required.

Instructor, J.O. Parker, has his BS degree in agricultural photojournalism. He is currently the editor of the Poweshiek County CR newspaper in Grinnell and photographs for Parker Photography. His images have won numerous awards through the Iowa Newspaper Association. Parker also works with local 4-H'ers to help them become better photographers. He and his wife Debbie have self-published two Iowa photography books.

"How to Take Better Digital Photos," course number CMB 2151 001, will be held on Wednesdays, January 23 Feb. 6 from 6 8 pm. The cost of the class is $29 and will be held at Iowa Valley Grinnell, 123 6th Avenue West, Grinnell, room 128.
