Douglas Richard Lynk, 52, of Waterloo, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home in Waterloo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13 at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12 from 5 - 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Doug was born on September 19, 1960 in Marshalltown, the son of Richard and Avellino (Oetker) Lynk. He was united in marriage to Brenda Beltz in May 1, 1987 in Tama and they later divorced. Doug was later united in marriage to Julie Fredrickson Foster on July 25, 2011 in Iowa City. He was employed at Ryder Logistics in Waterloo as a fork lift driver and had also worked at Wal-Mart in Coralville as a fork lift driver as well. He had also worked for McComas-Lacina Construction in Iowa City. Doug was a dog lover. He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR. Doug was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Preceding him in death was his father. Survivors include his wife Julie of Waterloo; son, Nicholas Richard Lynk of Bondurant; mother, Avellino Lynk of Iowa City; two sisters, Karen (Duane) Watters of Grinnell and Pam (Jeff) Metz of Iowa City; two step-sons, Aaron Foster and Joseph (Maria) Foster both of Waterloo. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established.
