Oak Hill Cemetery Association To Meet

March 6, 2013
From: Shirley Franklin , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Oak Hill Cemetery Association will meet on Friday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at King Tower Caf.

Hostesses will be Kim Carter and Carol Peterie. Roll call will be answered by, "Tell us what you plan to do for Easter, or what you have done on Easter's past that you remember."

This group's current project is the rebuilding of the Veteran's Memorial. The Veteran's Memorial is located on the south part of Oak Hill Cemetery.

It is distinguished by a statue of an American eagle on top of a brick wall. There is damage to the supporting brick and mortar caused by age and weather. The whole monument needs to be replaced due to the damaged structure. We are hoping everyone who has a veteran buried there will make a contribution as well as the whole community.

Please send your contribution to Judy Welch at Tama City Hall as soon as possible. Make your check payable to the Veteran's Memorial Fund.

We are hoping to have the memorial in place in time for the veteran's Memorial Day tribute that takes place in that location.
