Beatrice Dvorak, 84, of Chelsea died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Belle Plaine Nursing & Rehab Center. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the St Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea. Visitation will be held Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery at Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chelsea Public Library or to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.hollandcoblefuneralhome.com.

Beatrice Agnes Dvorak was born April 20, 1928 in Chelsea, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Anna Vavroch Musel. She was a 1946 graduate of the Chelsea High School . Then on January 20, 1948 she was united in marriage to Donald William Dvorak at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Beaty worked several years as a cook and a teachers aid for the South Tama County Schools. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Alter & Rosary Society, Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary . Beaty also served as a Chelsea City Council member and later volunteered at the Marshalltown Veterans Home as well as South Tama County Schools. She enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren, quilting, sewing, gardening and reading a good book. Beaty will be remembered for making delicious kolaches and holiday meals.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Dvorak; two brothers: Bernie and Don Musel and a brother-in-law, James Ledvina.

Beaty is survived by a daughter, Sr. Shirley Shafranek, OSF, of Tiffin, OH; four sons: Jim (Shari) Dvorak of Soddy Daisy, TN, Joe (Peg) Dvorak of Colfax, Jerry (Nikki) Dvorak of Tampa, FL, Tom (Jackie) Dvorak of Chelsea; a sister, Sharlene "Skip" Ledvina of Chelsea; a brother, Bob (Joyce) Musel of San Antonia, TX; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Musel of Belle Plaine and Audrey Musel of Toledo. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
