Spring is once again upon us. Put the snow shovels back on the wall of the garage. Put the snow blower in the corner where you dug the lawn mower out.
People are out walking for exercise. Kids are playing outside and in some instances in the streets. Bike riders are out and about. Lawn mowers are running. In other words, the outdoors is coming alive.
Let's make this a safe summer. I enjoy seeing kids out on bikes, playing games, and just having fun. Drivers pay attention with all the activity going on. Let's everybody look out for one another.
Toledo Mayor Dave Svoboda
Dog owners, PLEASE look after your dog, and CLEAN UP after it. The same rule applies to horse riders and any other pets. How would you like it if somebody let their pets do their daily duties in your front lawn where your children play and people walk???
Home owners and property owners do your part in keeping your areas presentable to travelers coming to and through our community. Encourage your neighbors to do the same, as I realize everybody doesn't read this article. If you see something in the street that shouldn't be there, pick it up or contact somebody that can take care of it. Don't wait on somebody else to do it because it may never happen.
Lawn mowers, I realize that it's all but impossible not to get grass in the street, but try to keep it to a minium. Pick up plastic bags, bottles, cans and any other trash that people throw out. The city has their hands full with other projects. Help them out!!!
I realize our community needs a lot of street work done, but until we get funds replenished, we will have to make do with what we have.
If anybody sees anything that needs city attention, don't hesitate to give either myself or the city clerk a call so we can address the issue.
Be proud of your community, as you should be of your own home.
Welcome to the first Foot Loose Friday and Farmers Market this Friday, May 3.
Have a safe and fun summer!!!!!
