DES MOINES (readMedia)- Throughout the 11 days of the 2013 Iowa State Fair, Fairgoers can enjoy more than half a million dollars worth of free entertainment from rock legends to country up-and-comers. "Nothing Compares" to this year's entertainment, all free with gate admission. The Iowa State Fair runs August 8-18.

Included in VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, Blue yster Cult is the epitome of classic rock. They'll join other rock favorites like Skid Row, L.A. Guns and Foghat on the relocated Budweiser Stage. The stage will be located west of the Jacobson Exhibition Center to accommodate its large crowds.

Country artist Jerrod Neiman's 2010 break-through single, "Lover, Lover," climbed to number one and was quickly followed by more hit songs including the top-five hit, "What Do You Want," as well as the top-twenty singles, "One More Drinkin' Song" and "Shinin' on Me." Neiman will perform at the Susan Knapp Amphitheater along with country up-and-comers The Henningsens, James Wesley and Greg Bates.

Building 429 has secured a loyal fan following with inspirational hits like "Glory Defined," "The Space between Us," and the number-one hit single, "Where I Belong." They will join this year's line-up along with folk artist Ben Taylor, hypnotist Ron Diamond and Des Moines' own The Nadas.

Discounted admission tickets are available now through August 7, with savings of nearly 30 percent. Purchase tickets online at The Iowa State Fair Ticket Office opens July 8 for walk-up orders.
