Marcella E. Novotny, 96, of Eau Claire, WI, formerly of Tama died on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisc.. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Cemetery in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Evergreen Funeral Home, Eau Claire, Wisc. and Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama are assisting with the arrangements.
Marcella was born on May 9, 1917 to the late Hynick and Anna (Dvorak) Novotny in Tama. She graduated from Tama High School. Marcella worked for 35 years with the Sengbush office in Milwaukee, Wisc., and did volunteer work for the March of Dimes for 20 years. Marcella moved to Eau Claire, Wisc., in 2009 to be closer to her niece. She loved playing cards and spending time with her family.
Marcella was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Mildred, Lucille, Addeline, George, Genevieve, Alan "Bud" and Viola.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Dr. Margaret "Peggy" ( Dr. Humayun) Khan, Roger (Joanne) Semotan, David (Sue) Novotny, Lorraine (Robert) Hammond, Judith Semotan, Michael Novotny, Mary (Andy) Novotny; and great nieces and nephews, Bucky, Sammy, Afreen, Michael, Susan, Richard and Cynthia.
