Finding female ancestors is museum talk

June 30, 2013
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Tama County Museum and Genealogical Society will meet July 3 at 7 p.m.

Sue Blaisdell from Marshalltown will present a program about "Finding Female Ancestors". Sue took up genealogy a few years ago after her dying mother begged her to carry on her research. Her mother had collected some interesting stories about women in the family but could not find records to complete the stories of their lives. This started Sue on a search for more ways to find female ancestors when either their maiden name or married names were unknown.

While Sue's background is in the plant sciences, she has experienced working on the Census twice and has lived in different parts of the USA and Germany and has a great interest in tracing female ancestors.
