In addition, contracts for protection for Vining and Elberon were also approved upon their receipt and signed by their officials.

The contracts cover fiscal year 2013-14. Voting in favor were members Dan Anderson and Larry Vest. Supervisor Kendall Jordan was absent.

County Engineer Lyle Brehm asked for an ordinance for a temporary closing of High V18 on July 27, for the City of Chelsea's car show. This is done each year.

Brehm told supervisors all the old asphalt on a section of Highway D65 has now been torn out, ground up and reused on L Avenue. A top layer of new covering will be placed in a few weeks on L Avenue.

Brehm said the soil beneath Highway D65 is not good and holds moisture which contributes to the problems they have been having. This will be taken care of as they rework D65 and resurface.

Work in Garwin on storm sewers is winding down and asphalt work there will be done soon, he also reported.

Claims approved for payment totaled $83,377.
