Sodders Endorses

Kajtazovic for

U.S. Congress

WATERLOO-Iowa Senate President Pro Tempore Steve Sodders D-State Center) has endorsed Rep. Anesa Kajtazovic for the 1stCongressional District Democratic primary. Sodders represents Tama and Marshall counties, Marshall being the fourth largest county in the 1stDistrict.

"I am supporting Anesa for Congress because she understands firsthand the needs of middle class families like mine. She will fight to widen the path for the middle class and I know we can count on her to get things done in Washington for regular Iowans. Anesa brings a fresh perspective and valuable experience to the table; she is exactly what our district needs," stated Sodders.

Fisher on Ernst team

Joni Ernst announced her 99-county leadership team last week. In doing so, Joni is the first and only Republican candidate in the race for Iowa's open U.S. Senate seat to achieve this important milestone according to her campaign news release.

The Tama County leader for Ernst is State Rep. Dean Fisher (R-Garwin.)

cadidaters to debate

DES MOINESThe Republican Party of Polk County and the College Republicans of Grand View University will host a Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Debate Forum on Wednesday, April 16, at the University's Krumm Business Center, Room 33, located at the Krumm Centrum Lecture Hall on campus at 1309 Grandview Avenue, Des Moines.

Come meet the candidates and visit their display tables before and after the event. The Meet-and-Greet will commence at 6 p.m. with the Debate starting at 6:30 p.m. for 90 minutes.

The moderator will be a designated Grand View student who is not affiliated with the candidates or campaigns-or the Republican Party of Polk County.

1st District Demo hopefuls in Vinton forum on April 25

The five Democratic candidates for 1st Distrcit U.S. Congress will take part in a public forum on April 25 at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School, 210 W 21st, Vinton. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the forum is at 7 p.m. It is free to the public.

Five candidates, Swati Dankekar, Cedar Rapids; State Representative Anesa Kajtazovic, Waterloo; Dave OBrien, Cedar Rapids; State Representative Pat Murphy, Dubuque; and Monica Vernon, Cedar Rapids; are vying to replace Congressman Bruce Braley.

1st District Democrats will meet for their convention at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School on begining in the morning of April 26.
