Sienknecht family reunion is Sept. 11

CLUTIER-The annual Sienknecht Family Reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at 12:30pm in the Clutier American Legion Hall, 281 4th St, Clutier.

Henry and Freda (Krambeck) Sienknecht arrived in the U.S. from Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, on Nov. 26, 1883. They lived in Hampton Bluff, Illinois, for 10 years before moving to Tama County, Iowa. They lived south of Traer for several years before moving to a farm in Crystal Township, later locating in the Lincoln and Gladbrook communities. They were parents of six children: Henry Sienknecht Jr. of Rock Island, Ill.; Lillian Staker of Lincoln; John C. Sienknecht of Clutier; Fred Sienknecht of Lincoln; Maggie Fink of Lincoln; and Freda Sabin of Waterloo.

The reunion will be a potluck. Please bring a dish to share and table service. Drinks will be provided. The afternoon will include a presentation on the family history.
