Keller qualifies for NJCAA National meet

Sports Editor Note: Blake Keller is a 2016 graduate of South Tama County High School. He was a two time State Cross Country Qualifier and is the son of Jolene Keller and the late Todd Keller

NIACC freshman Blake Keller has qualified for the NJCAA national indoor meet in the 5,000-meter run.

Keller's time of 15:33.10 in the 5,000 currently ranks 17th in NJCAA Division I. The qualifying standard in the 5,000 is 15:36.94.

Keller also ranks 21st in the 3,000 with a season-best time of 8:54.17. The 3,000 qualifying standard is 8:54.17.

The NIACC men's and women's track and field teams will compete in the NJCAA Region XI indoor championships Friday and Saturday in Storm Lake.

The NJCAA national indoor meet is March 3-4 in Pittsburgh, Kan.

Also Keller was an honorable mention all-region performer this past fall for the NIACC cross country team. He placed 16th at the regional meet.
