At the Feb. 8 meeting of the Toledo-Tama Kiwanis, Harold Woodworth greeted members; Mary Fasse-Shaw led the song and pledge, and Cindy Roth gave the prayer. The members enjoyed a lunch of chicken strips, scalloped potatoes, green beans, three kinds of salad, and frosted brownies for dessert. One of the highlights of the meetings are the excellent lunches catered by Ronda Pokorny.
President Sarah Feisel reminded the group that the Golden Ruler event is scheduled for March 21 st. This is one of the activities sponsored by Kiwanis. This event honors outstanding middle school students.
Cindy Roth introduced high school teacher Chris McFate. Chris brought two high school students who had participated in speech contest and whom she had coached. Hunter White and Thane Lamb presented a humorous acting entitled "Roll Over Beethoven." Both young actors did excellent work. It is not at all surprising that they won All State honors with their presentation. Members really enjoyed Hunter and Thane's comedic talents.
It is always a pleasure for Kiwanis to have STC students as programs for the meetings. It reenforces how important our young people are and how important our Kiwanis' mission to support them is.
Kiwanis meet every Wednesday at noon at the Country Club. New members are always welcome.
