Shanin Sebetka wins Princess Pageant

On June 11, Shanin Sebetka, the 13-year-old daughter of Andrew and Desiray Sebetka of Tama and Brandon and Deanna Kucera of Traer, was crowned the 2017-2018 Iowa Junior High School Rodeo Association (IJHSRA) Princess. This is the first year the IJHSRA implemented the title.

Sebetka competed at the Iowa High School Rodeo State Finals in Waterloo, Iowa, in the categories of impromptu questioning, horsemanship, modeling and interview. She walked away with the crown, trophy buckle and other prizes.

Besides representing the association and her state throughout the entire year, she will compete at the Iowa State Fair Cowgirl Queen Contest this August.

Including being crowned IJHSRA Princess, Sebetka also participates in Barrel Racing and Pole Pending. She just completed the 7th grade at North Tama County Community School and her future plans are to attend Iowa State University to become a veterinarian.
