The South Tama Trojans (1-18) hosted the Beckman Catholic Trailblazers (17-4) on Wednesday, June 14. The contest was a WaMaC conference double header.

Game one of the night resulted in a 12-run mercy rule finish with the Trailblazers up 13-0 in the third inning.

In game two the Trojans saw some success. Pitching for STC was incoming freshman Ashlynn Ellenbecker. The Trojans survived through all seven innings of action. This is a positive for a team that has been 10-runned in 11 of their 21 games this season.

The Trojans got their bats swinging and were able to score runs in the first, fourth and seventh innings. Allison Yuska, Lauren Yuska, Sabrina Holtz and Saylor Upah each had hits. Maci Fritz recorded an RBI.

South Tama has faced some rather tough competition this season as four of the Class 3A ranked teams are also conference opponents. Solon is ranked fifth, Beckman seventh (Class 2A), Mount Vernon eighth and CPU ninth.

STC will be at home on Wednesday evening for a WaMaC double header with Clear Creek Amana (8-18).
