South Tama fell behind early in game one and couldn't come back in a 7-1 loss to Clear Creek-Amana. The Trojans hosted CCA on Monday, July 3 for a WaMaC conference double header at Trojan field.

Earning the win in game one for the Clippers was Kobey Schlotman. Schlotman gave up just three hits and one run, while striking out five and walking no batters.

CCA captured the lead in the first inning when Tyler Hallet hit an RBI single into the outfield to get the Clippers on the board.

Leading the Trojans at the plate was Cam Klostermann, Jake Wilkerson, and Carter Kriegel, each recording a hit.

Clear Creek-Amana totaled nine hits. Schlotman and Cody Ogden each collected multiple hits for Clear Creek-Amana.

In game two the Trojans again fell behind in the first inning, never recovering for a 4-0 loss to the Clippers.

Earning the game two win was Camden Armstrong. Armstrong pitched for 6 innings giving up just one hit, no runs and two strikeouts.

Ogden's sac fly scored one run for Clear Creek-Amana.

One positive for the Trojans was a single by Lane Koch in the first inning.

Koch took the loss for STC. He pitched five innings, surrendering four runs, three hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Koch and Drake Crawford each collected a hit for the Trojans.

The Trojans have had a difficult road this season with several obstacles to overcome. One of those being that they remain a young team with just one senior, Jonah Bearden, on the roster.

But with youth comes potential. Seeing some playing time for the Trojans were incoming freshmen, Brayden Smith and Matt Wiese. Smith batted in the nine hole and played short stop for game one and half of game two. Wiese was the designated hitter in game one and played third base in game two. Time will tell how these young players will develop.

But for now, the Trojans have roughly two more weeks in their regular season. Post season pairings are yet to be released at the time of publication but an educated guess might pit the 4-25 Trojans against the 29-3 Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings. The other teams in District 11 are Benton Community (13-21) and Grinnell (18-14). The winner of the district bracket will take on the winner from District 12 that features Pella (17-15), Oskaloosa (21-12), Chariton (11-17), and Knoxville (24-6). District play begins Friday, July 14.
