So. Tama Elementary learn about careers

July 13, 2017
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Letter to the Editor:

On June 30, 2017, STC Elementary Summer School students went out into Tama /Toledo to learn about different careers in our community. The students were divided up into groups of 7 to 9 students with an adult and visited different businesses for 30 minute sessions on Friday morning.

The kids were very excited about what they learned and were able to come back and share in mixed groups so each grade level talked about 6 to 9 different careers. I would like to thank those businesses for allowing our students to learn from them about careers they might aspire to do after graduating. Your patience and generosity did not go unnoticed by the students and staff of summer school.

Thank you to these businesses for continuing to give to our community: Weiting Theater, Wilkerson Hardware, Bumblebee's Pizza, Tender Lawn Care, Michelle's Hair Salon, Musgrave Motors, Toledo Water Plant, Ultimate Image. Toledo State Bank, Art on The Farm, Lincoln Savings Bank, Ace Hardware, Hardon's Plumbing, Electrical, Heating and Air Conditioning, Tama County Veterans Affairs, Tama County Abstract, City of Toledo Office, Seitz Chiropractic, Sheer Perfection and Step and Tank.

If you were not a part of career day and would like to be a part of future career day activities at the elementary please contact Marilyn Rippy: mrippy@s-tama.k12.ia.us

I would be happy to put you on our list of businesses.

South Tama Elementary Summer School Staff
