Wieting Theatre’s 5th Annual Camp Creamery underway

July 26, 2017
From: Lori Baier - Special To The Chronicle , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Wieting Theatre Guild and the Old Creamery Theatre Company are excited to give 60 area children age seven and older the opportunity to learn theatre skills and perform for their families, friends and neighbors. These kids will have the opportunity to learn skills such as being comfortable in front of a crowd, vocal projection, stage directions, technical aspects of theatre and how to cooperate and work as a team to put on a musical in one week while having fun!

After roles are assigned, the students are spending the rest of the week memorizing their songs, lines and dance steps.

The musicals performed every year are originals written by Jackie McCall the Education Director of the Old Creamery Theatre Company with help from her husband, Sean McCall, the Artistic Director and Travis Smith, the Composer. The play this year is entitled, "Little Red Meets the Wolves". It is a rollicking musical that reminds us to get the facts and what can happen when you jump to conclusions. Camp Creamery will have the audience saying, "My! What big talent you have!"
