Tama county Historical Preservation Commission meets

August 13, 2017
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

At their Aug. 3 meeting, The Tama County Historical Preservation Commission had persons present from Tama, Toledo, Garwin, and Dysart.

President Jason Staker led the group through old business. Discussed was the failure to get a grant for the King Tower sign. Also, the group is waiting for a report from Jennifer Price as to the eligibility of King Tower for the National Register.

Future projects were also presented. The group could identify historical sites and buildings along the Czech Trail. A good candidate for the National Register is a bank in Dysart. Garwin has some structures that might qualify for the National Register.

Members will gather information concerning these projects for the September meeting.
