Marilyn Sires Baker

Marilyn Sires Baker, 82, passed away Sept. 22, 2017 at the Glenmoor Lifecare Center, St. Augustine, Florida. She was born in Monticello, Iowa, to Raymond and Daisy Sires formerly of Tama. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.

Sharing her God given talents was reflected in her 25 years directing children and adult choirs. She was President of the local PEO chapter, served as a Deacon at St. Augustine Memorial Presbyterian Church, acted on the Limelight stage and was a founding member of the Limelight Guild. Of recent years, her talents have been channeled to directing and acting in the Glenmoor Playreaders Productions.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William Baker, their five children, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and brother Doug (Debbie) Sires of Polk City, Iowa.

A Memorial Service at Glenmoor will be at 11 AM, with internment at St. Augustine Memorial Presbyterian Church on October 7, 2017. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Music Worship Program at St. Augustine Memorial Presbyterian Church and to Glenmoor's Scholarship Program.
