Sheriff’s Office seeks help about digging in Lohberger refuge

The Tama County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance regarding information that we have recently received from a person who mushroom hunts each spring. The person will remain unnamed at this time.

Any person who may have seen suspicious vehicles, activity, or evidence of fresh digging activity in the Lohberger Wildlife Refuge which is northwest of Toledo in April or May of 2000 please contact us.

Also any person who may have done any hand digging in that same Wildlife Refuge in April or May of 2000 for any legitimate purposes that may have left behind fresh dirt/diggings that could be later observed by mushroom hunters in May of 2000 please contact us so we can better compare your information to the information we are getting to see if it matches the same area of the Wildlife Refuge.
