Tama-Toledo Area Chamber coordinator updates Kiwanis

January 29, 2018
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

At the January 17 meeting, the guest speaker was Janet Busch from the Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce. She spoke about the various festivals and celebrations that have been and continue to be observed in both communities. A concern she expressed was the cost of lighting the trees on the Courthouse lawn. The company doing the work charges $5,000. This year, due to some unanticipated expenses, the cost was $6-300-

Ms. Busch is also actively seeking members for the Chamber as well as asking our large companies, most of whom have central offices out of town, to contribute to the communities' endeavors. She mentioned that the Chamber has put in a request to have RAGBAI go through our towns this summer. The route will be announced on January 27th.

When asked, Ms. Busch said she is not a very active partner with Tama County Economic Development, with most of her contacts being with Joanna Husak.

President Larry Fletcher thanked Donna Smith for greeting, Ray Murray for the song and pledge, and Pastor Oliver for the prayer.
