South Tama wins East Marshall/GMG duals

South Tama brought home their first team win at a Saturday meet this season. The Trojans competed at the East Marshall/GMG duals on Saturday, Jan. 20.

In their bracket the Trojans topped Union 42-25, Sigourney-Keota 59-12 and East Marshall/GMG 56-11.

The Trojans had some slight changes in their lineup. Isaac Judge and Pedro Rodriguez swapped weight classes with Rodriguez wrestling at 152 and Judge at 160. Mario Moncada bounced between 220 and 285 and the Trojans remained open at 113.

The Trojans' first dual of the day was with Union and it began with Judge at 160. Judge closed the day with three pins. Some other highlights for the Trojans were Brady Fritz, Colton Vest and Pedro Rodriguez winning each match by fall at 132, 145 and 152. Tanner Probasco won each of his three matches by decision. Dalton Rosenburg won all of his matches at 182 with two pins and a tech fall. Mario Moncada won his matches with two pins and received a forfeit. Josh Thiessen and Cael Kellogg won two of their three matches. Brayden Smith one two of three with a pin and a forfeit. Brady Knode also got his first varsity pin of the season at 120 during the Sigourney-Keota dual.
