South Tama Middle School students take part in S.T.E.M. event

On January 29, Iowa Public Television partnered with Million Women Mentors Iowa to bring together 6-12 grade students who identify as female with STEM organizations. From 9-11 a.m. students and their chaperones visited interactive STEM booths taking guided notes about the training and education needed for specific careers.

South Tama Schools was one of 10 distrcits selected to take part.

The students from South Tama Middle school in Toledo included 6th Grade TAG - Mika Durolfo, Kaylynn Murty, 7th Grade TAG - Ella Rosario, Jimena Nunez, Itzel Herrera

Iowa Public Television asked the selected districts to return to their schools and share what they have learned.

Iowa Public Television had over 40 school districts apply for this event. Due to such high interest Iowa Public Television anticipates this event will be repeated. Make sure to follow Iowa Public Television Education on social media to stay abreast of these types of events.
