Jacqueline "Jackie" (Stabenow) Else

Jacqueline "Jackie" (Stabenow) Else, 87, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Toledo, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Arbor Place which is part of the Meth-Wick community in Cedar Rapids. She was under the care of Hospice of Mercy. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 6, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Visitation will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 from 10 AM until the time of service at St. Patrick Catholic Church. There will be a Rosary beginning at 10:45 AM prior to the Mass at 11:00 AM.

Jacqueline was born on April 12, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert and Mary (Miller) Stabenow.

She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waterloo and Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa.

Jacqueline 'Jackie' (Stabenow) Else

On April 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to John "Jack" Else at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo. Jackie was a Registered Nurse at various places in the Tama County area. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Her family and her community were of utmost importance in her life.

Survivors include her children, Jeff (Claudia) Else of Toledo, Mary Margaret Lang of Cedar Rapids, Sarah (Jack) Else of Cedar Rapids, and Laura (Henry) Crockett of Warrensburg, MO; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Else of Fairfield; eleven grandchildren, Morgan (Grant) Dickey, John "Buck" (Brianna) Else, and Hunter Else, Spencer Else and Clare Else, Hans Lang, Jakob Lang, and Elizabeth Lang, John Briley Else, Trey (Jordan) Crockett, and Derek Crockett; four great-grandchildren, Stella Dickey, Adeline Dickey, Eloise Dickey, and Lincoln Else.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jack in June of 2004; two sons, Jason and Joel Else; and one brother, Steven Stabenow.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice at

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
