Lloyd Joseph Chyma Sr.

Lloyd Joseph Chyma Sr., 94, of Tama, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Hospice Compassus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Lloyd was born on March 12, 1924, in rural Poweshiek County, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Maude (Mochal) Chyma.

On July 31, 1948, he was united in marriage to Myona Hamner at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Lloyd farmed and raised pigs and Black Angus cattle. He enjoyed traveling with Myona and the Ambassador Club, especially going to Barefoot Becky concerts. Lloyd was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tama-Toledo Eagles Club, Farm Bureau, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include his children, Sharon (Mike) Niewahner of Toledo, Carol Chyma of Apache Junction, AZ, Lloyd Jr. "Mac" (Julie) Chyma of Tama, and Andy (Dena) Chyma of Tama; seven grandchildren, Cammie (James) Harrelson, Brenon (Emily) Chyma, Lanny (Melissa) Feisel, Bryce (Brianna) Chyma, Shannon Feisel, Chris Chyma, and Katie Chyma; seven great-grandchildren, Tyson Leslie Harrelson, Jet, Jax, and Jordy Chyma, Lane, Wyatt, and Harper Feisel; two sisters, Evelyn Chyma of Milwaukee, WI and JoAnn (Rick) Wacha of Toledo; one sister-in-law, Mary Chyma of Toledo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Myona on March 26, 2017; and one brother, Paul Chyma Sr.
