Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Toledo Public Library will offer special creative arts workshops, titled, Express Yourself, for adults ages 55-plus on four different days in May. Keeley Weeks will teach four workshops; painting, mixed media, card making and jewelry making at the library. The events are free and participants can stop in or contact library staff to register. 641-484-3362.

The Toledo Library was one of 18 libraries in the state chosen to partici-pate in the Iowa Arts Learning in Libraries Initiative (ALLI) program. The ALLI program, a partnership between the State Library of Iowa and the Iowa Arts Council, was made possible through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The goal of ALLI is to partner with lo-cal arts organizations with rural public libraries to engage older adults with participatory, skill-based arts programs that meet creative, cogni-tive and social needs.

"The Toledo Library is honored to be chosen as a participant in the program. We are eager to bring in artist Keeley Weeks to create with our participants in a fun group setting." Jenny Bledsoe, Library Director.
