By Coach Steve Bearden , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The STC Girls Tennis Team faced WAMAC Conference foe Western Dubuque for the final time in a dual meet format on April 24. The Trojans fell 0-9 to the tradition rich program.

The Bobcats will move to the Mississippi Valley Conference in 2018-2019.

The #1 Doubles Team of Bri Nelson/Abbie Morgan played the most competitive match of the night as they faced Ally Besler/Brinnley Breitbach. The talented duo from South Tama refused to go down without a fight as they saved five match points over the last several games of the match. Nelson/Morgan drew praise from Sam Nieman, Western Dubuque Coach. "They just refused to lose. They are a very tough team. You have one (Nelson) who just gets everything back from the backcourt, and then you have one (Morgan) whom its nearly impossible to get the ball past at the net." Besler/Breitbach survived late to record a 9-7 win for the visiting team.
