South Tama schools audit shows revenues, spending both up in 17-18

Nolte, Comman & Johnson P.C. have released an audit report on the South Tama County Community School District in Tama.

The District's revenues totaled $21,766,724 for the year ended June 30, 2017, a increase of 6.77 percent from the prior year. Revenues included property tax of $5,555,208, income surtax of $522,410, statewide sales, services and use tax of $1,477,549, charges for service of $845,284, operating grants, contributions and restricted interest of $2,389,014, unrestricted state grants of $10,668,067, nonspecific federal grants of $175,992, unrestricted interest earnings of S51,168 and other general revenues of $82,032.

Expenses for District operations for the year ended June 30, 2017, totaled $20,533,69 1, a 7.66 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses included $6,840,858 for regular instruction, $3,067,359 for special instruction, and $2,417,857 for other instruction.
