Ranger Roberts visits Toledo Library

May 15, 2018
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Tama County Naturalist/Park Ranger Logan Roberts visited the Art Lab program at the Toledo Public Library on March 28th.

Logan brought several different turtles including a box turtle for the audience to learn about.

Logan showed a chart of all the different turtles that live in Iowa and told about several of their habitats and what they eat. Everyone was surprised to learn that there are 13 species of turtles living in Iowa including the Mud Turtle and the Snapping Turtle. After Logan's presentation, she allowed the kids to touch, hold and have their photo taken with the turtles. Thanks to Logan and Otter Creek, our audience has learned to appreciate these different species of turtles.
