Summer day camps offered in Tama County

May 15, 2018
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Tama County, will be hosting two day camps this summer at the Tama City Park. The fun will begin at 9:00 a.m. and go until 3:00 p.m. Cost for each camp is $10. Camp is open to all youth having completed Kindergarten - Third grades during the 2017-2018 school year.

The day includes crafts, snacks and experiments that will help us learn and have fun! Everyone is asked to bring a sack lunch. Beverage and snacks will be provided.

On June 11, our day camp is "Earth Day is Everyday." Earth Day is celebrated in April, but it needs to be remembered everyday. Learn about recycling and reusing. We'll have lots of fun activities and crafts using things we find in our homes.

On June 18, our camp will be "Out of this world!" Look up in the night sky and what do you see? The moon and stars. What more is up there? We'll talk planets, stars, rockets and more.

Registration can be picked up at the Tama County Extension Office or found at www.extension.iastate.edu/tama. Form and payment can be dropped off or mailed to Tama County Extension 203 W High Street in Toledo. Deadline to register is June 1st. Space is limited, so sign up early! For more information call 641-484-2703 or jhulme@iastate.edu.
