The 2018 WaMaC Conference Girls Tennis Meet at Maquoketa turned out to be a two-day affair with nine days between competitions. The Trojans traveled 113 miles on May 1 to play for an hour before the rain stopped play. The team set off once again on May 10 at 5:45 AM to complete the conference meet. Despite the unusual circumstances, South Tama garnered a fourth place finish and earned one medal. The Trojans trailed only Western Dubuque, Independence, and Marion in the team race. STC finished just two points out of third place.

Senior Bri Nelson placed fourth in the WaMaC at #1 Singles. She defeated Kaci Varner of Maquoketa in the quarterfinals by a score of 8-1. Nelson fell to the #2 Seeded Rachel Ormord of Western Dubuque 0-8 in the semifinals. In the third place match, Nelson dropped a 0-8 decision to Calista Dittmer of Marion.

Abbie Morgan scored a popular upset in the quarterfinal round when she defeated Independence's Kylie Coonrad 9-7 at #2 Singles. In the semi-final round, Morgan was defeated by the #1 Seed Sammy Kruse of Western Dubuque. The talented player from South Tama placed third in the WaMaC when she downed Mia Combs of Maquoketa 8-0.
