Jeannice Marie Ramsdell

Jeannice Marie Ramsdell, 80, of Dubuque and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant and Deacon Gerald Jorgensen as homilist. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 from 9 - 11 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama.

Jeannice was born on September 5, 1937, in Clutier, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ollie (Kalina) Kopecky.

She graduated from Toledo High School.

On September 28, 1957, she married Gary Alan Ramsdell at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Jeannice was certified as an x-ray technician. She and her husband owned and operated a Maid-Rite restaurant in Dubuque retiring in 1993. They returned to Toledo in 1998 and she moved back to Dubuque in 2012. Jeannice was a member of the Catholic Church. Her devotion in life was raising her family.

Survivors include six children, Lynette (Ahmed) Shabana, Naperville, IL, Lea Ann (Tom Lattik) Ramsdell, Baltimore, MD, Gary Jerome (Lee-Ann) Ramsdell, Riverview, FL, Marcia (Chuck) Smith, Celina, OH, Sara (Tom) Goffinet, Dubuque, and Jay (Shauna) Ramsdell, Gillette, WY; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sherry (Dick) Benda of Ankeny, and Susan (Mike) Hobbs of Brooklyn Park, MN; one sister-in-law, Anne Ramsdell of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Gary in 2009.

A memorial fund has been established.

Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
