South Tama falls to Williamsburg Raiders

South Tama dropped two games in a double header to Williamsburg on Monday, June 18. The Trojans hosted the Raiders for a WaMaC Conference contest. The Trojans fell in game one 12-1 and game two 14-5.

Starting game one was Ashlynn Ellenbecker. She allowed nine hits over four innings, 12 runs, had two errors, walked one and struck out three.

Leading the Trojans from the plate was Saylor Upah. Upah tallied two of the Trojans four hits in the first game. The Trojans scored one run in the bottom of the third inning. Morgan Haughey recorded the RBI that was scored by Gwen Upah who was courtesy running for Ellenbecker.

Taking the game two loss was Britney Breya. Breya pitched for five innings allowing 10 hits, 14 runs, had five errors, walked 4 and struck out one.

The Trojans upped their offensive production in game two earning five hits. Upah once again led the Trojans with two hits one of which was a double and two RBIs.

STC will be at Marion on Monday, June 25 and home again on Wednesday, June 27 to host Independence. Wednesday's game will be the final conference games of the season.

Regional play for Class 3A begins on Tuesday, July 3. The Trojans will travel to Solon for a 7 p.m. contest.
