Frakes, Arp finish strong for Trojans

South Tama County competed at a Cross Country Meet in Vinton on Tuesday, September 18. The weather was overcast with a southeast wind of 10-20 mph and the temperature was 68 degrees.

Callie Frakes was the top female finisher for the girls. She came in fourth with a time of 21:17. Kay Fett of Vinton-Shellsburg won the meet with a time of 20:28.

Other finishers from STC included 24 - Alyssa Chyma (23:39), 31 - Jojo Tyynismaa (24:12), 47 - Makayla Backen (26:01), 55 - Abbigail Froelich (27:01), 56 - Neena Lasley (27:09), 57 - Joseline Nunez (27:59), Caitlyn Stochl (28:00) and Kate Froelich (32:00). Tuesday's times were pr's for Chyma, Tyynismaa, Lasley, A. Froelich, Stochl and K. Froelich.

For the boys STC's Garrett Arp was the top finisher for the Trojans. Arp shaved off roughly 34 seconds for a pr of 18:39. Arp took 8th place. Lake Lebahn of Union won the race with a time of 17:11.

Also running for South Tama were 17 - Trusten Rosenberger (19:45), 25 - Jonathan Meyer (20:09), 39 - Clayton Graff (20:45), Jair Sosa (21:03), 46 - Brayden Smith (21:24), 53 - Ethan Babinat (22:05), Omar Castanon (22:06), Jorge Davila (22:24) and Mitch Knock (22:56).
