South Tama earns 2nd place at home tourney

Five wins and second place, all in all Saturday was a good day for the STC Trojans. South Tama hosted their annual home tournament which included teams: Belle Plaine, BGM, East Marshall, Grinnell, Anamosa and Hudson.

South Tama started their day with a quick 2-0 over Belle Plaine 21-17 and 21-15. The Trojans went on to top BGM 2-0 (21-12, 21-8), East Marshall 2-0 (21-11 and 21-18) and Grinnell 2-0 (21-19, 21-16).

STC won their fifth contest of the day 2-1 over Anamosa (21-12, 19-21 and 15-12).

The STC Volleyball team took 2nd place at their home tournament on Saturday, September 22. The championship contest was between STC and Hudson. Hudson won the first set 21-12. The Trojans fought back in the second set winning 21-17 but ultimately fell in the third 15-2.

STC had two new additions to the varsity lineup, senior Abbie Morgan saw the court for the first time this season and freshman Gracie Vest moved into the varsity lineup as well.

Madison Rohach led the Trojans in kills totalling 46 between the 14 sets played.
