Incumbents 72nd District Iowa House member Dean Fisher (R-rural Montour) and Tama County Attorney Brent Heeren (R-Toledo) won reelection in unofficial returns from the Tuesday, Nov. 6 General Election.

Tama and Marshall county voters gave Fisher a total of 6,955 votes to challenger Mindy Benson (D-Tama) who polled 4.715 votes.

NOTE: The Black Hawk County total was not available at this posting but the number of possible votes in the District 72 area is not enough to overcome Fisher's 2,200 vote lead.
