South Tama County is in the process of looking for a new Head Varsity Volleyball coach. Coach Amy Dolash recently submitted her resignation from the position after spending the past three seasons at the helm of the varsity program.

She said the reason behind her resignation was the need to spend more time with her family. Amy and her husband Jerry Dolash have two children ages 11 and 12 who are both becoming active in their own South Tama sports programs as middle schoolers.

"This was a tough decision because I enjoyed my time coaching. I had a great coaching staff and support system. The girls have been awesome and have become better volleyball players and better students which is what we want. We don't want to just focus on the wins and losses. It's going to be hard but I will there to support them in the future," she said.

As of now the search for a new coach is underway. The position was posted to the Teach Iowa website last week.

STC Activities Director, Brent Bagnall, stated the school is still taking applications.

"The district would like to thank Amy Dolash for her time and dedication to the South Tama volleyball program. Most people do not realize the time, effort, and sacrifice that coaches give to their programs, particularly at the varsity level. We want to thank Amy for her service to our students and wish her the best going forward," said Bagnall.
