Lincoln Highway Bridge restoration fund tops goal

January 5, 2019
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Jared Schirmer, Lincoln Savings Bank Tama branch manager, and Sue Carnahan, Lincoln Savings Bank regional leader, present a $3,000 donation on behalf of the bank to Tama City Clerk Alyssa Hoskey and Tama Mayor Mike Carnahan on Thursday, Dec. 27. The donations puts the fund drive over the top of $12,000 for local contributions to the restoration fund for the historic Lincoln Highway Bridge on East 5th Street. Grants and funding from the City of Tama will pay for engineering and actual work on the 104-year-old bridge located on the original route of the first U.S. transcontinental highway.
