South Tama, 7-6, hosted the Williamsburg Raiders, 6-9, for a WaMaC west contest on Friday, January 11.

Starting for the Trojans were Jaelin Berger, Jessica Musgrave, Carissa Musgrave, Taylor Ray and Madison Rohach. Starting for Williamsburg were Charlotte Wetjen, Jillian Holub, Taylor Busch, Emily Jensen and Mackenzie O'Neil.

The night began with Williamsburg's Charlotte Wetjen sinking a three point shot. Wetjen's perimeter shooting is what helped keep the Raiders in the game. She was 3-7 and was second to Taylor Busch who led the Raiders with 13 points. Wetjen had 9.

The Trojans however, quickly caught up and surpassed Williamsburg thanks to Jessica and Carissa Musgrave. Jessica found three straight opportunities to create offensive on the defensive end, stealing the ball and running it down for a quick layup. She scored two buckets and gave the third to her sister putting the Trojans up 10-3.

The Raiders managed to put a stop to that by protecting the ball a bit better. Williamsburg led going into the second quarter 17-15. The Trojans started the second quarter with an unanswered eight point run courtesy Rohach, C. Musgrave, Rosenberger and Berger. Also coming in off the bench was Zoee Buffalo who added a strong presence at the post that the Raiders really didn't have an answer for.

By halftime, STC had a nice 11 point lead at 36-25. Following halftime the Trojans went to work on the offensive end, outscoring the Raiders 18-10.

Going into the final eight minutes, South Tama had amassed a double digit lead at 54-35. Coach Todd Dale looked to his bench to finish off the night with Abbie Morgan, Queta Diego, Shelby Slaven and Aubrey Roberts playing much of the fourth quarter. The Raiders made a bit of a dent in STC's lead but the night was pretty much locked in after the Trojans' third quarter efforts.

The STC girls will be on the road this week to Vinton on Tuesday and CP-U on Friday.
