A report on the four South Tama school buildings is expected to be presented at the March 18 school board meeting STC Superintendent Jared Smith said Monday. He told the school board the facilities study they had approved in December of last year was underway.

A two-day evaluation tour by both an electrical and structural engineer and two representatives of Estes Construction had taken place last week.

Smith said the report is expected to include a list of priorities to cover the next five to 10 years and other information.

Board member Ron Houghton asked if there were any critical or "dangerous" findings which Smith said there were not. He did say most of the recommendations will be made about the middle school in Toledo and the Partnership Center in Tama. They are the older of the four schools.

Estes Construction, which has a Davenport office, was the lowest bidder at $12,500 for the study.

The last recorded facilities study according to newspaper files was authorized in 2010.
