You know you’re getting old when…

February 16, 2019
By Pastor Mike Nodland - Clutier Community Church and Vining Christian Fellowship Church , Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

the elderly woman behind the counter at the drugstore calls you "Honey," instead of "Sonny." Or you know you're getting old when your doctor wants to schedule you for colonoscopies ever 3 years! (He's serious! Like that's ever going to happen!) Or you know you're getting old when your most recent car accident has to do with both of your cars in your driveway.

But aging has its upside, too. Like younger people who pull their kids away from you and steer clear of your grocery cart. Or when you can watch the same episode of Rawhide 3 nights in a row or hide your own Easter eggs!

But we're all getting older-and old-even for the younger crowd. But I'm not ready to jump on the next bus to heaven just yet! If you know you're getting older-or old-what remains that's most important? Hunting? Fishing? The grand-kids? High school class reunions? Those can grow old, themselves! What about other significant relationships?
